Piatrika Biosystems, an agri-genomics and data science company, has announced a partnership with Kaveri Seeds to apply genomic selection (GS) and prediction models in maize breeding. The collaboration is designed to improve breeding efficiency and accelerate genetic gain in Kaveri’s maize program by integrating genomic, phenotypic, and environmental data. The goal is to support data-driven decisions that strengthen hybrid performance and resilience across India’s diverse growing conditions. Through this partnership, Kaveri Seeds will use Piatrika’s TraitGenie module to develop and retrain genomic selection models and integrate data through the Breeding Data Analytics Pipeline. The system combines multi-trait and multi-environment datasets, allowing breeders to assess both General and Specific Combining Ability (GCA/SCA) and identify promising hybrid combinations.
